Tax Savings Everyone is Talking About
(3,000+ reviews)
My taxes went up a lot in recent years. I appealed once myself a few years ago and failed. Why not giving it a try, I thought, when I got an Ownwell's offer in mail in 2023. Thankfully I did. Ownwell was able to reduce my tax by almost 12%. This was my first time using them and I am very pleased with the service. BTW, don't forget their referral program, both you and your friend will get a $20 credit in bill for every sign up!
Ownwell made it extremely easy for me to appeal my tax bill this year and saved me over $900 in taxes!
Onnwell are professionals that anyone would want to do business with. They came into my situation and promised to appeal on my behalf to get my property tax reduced and they did. I appreciate you guys for the good work done. I strongly recommend them to anyone in similar situation
My taxes jumped a LOT this year, so I contacted Ownwell to help me get them reduced. It took a long time (because of the county) and the reduction didn't bring me anywhere close to what it was last year, but Ownwell handled all of it, filing the appeal, talking to the county, everything. It was a great help, and I would absolutely use them again.
My personal residence property tax increased. I am busy and had challenged it with my county government at my last address about 8-10 years ago and had some savings but not enough to justify the time spend going to the tax boards meeting and haggling with the staff. This was easy peasy. They got my value reduced approximately $77K which led to a tax bill saving of $176.72. This was low effort and saving me over $500! I highly recommend this service. Even if no savings is had, the cost is zero. So this is win win situation.
Wow, I got Ownwell to handle my appeal for my house appraisal with Cobb County Tax Assessor for 2023 year. They not only won the appeal, they got the property taxes reduced by over 40% of the recent increase by Cobb County. I am glad that I let Ownwell handle this problem for me.

How do you lower my taxes?
We manage the end-to-end process of property tax reduction, from paperwork filing to discussions with county assessors and attending appeal board hearings. We use a combination of proprietary technology and local knowledge to build the best evidence to reduce property taxes.
How do I submit evidence for my appeal?
How do I submit evidence for my appeal?
You can provide evidence by uploading documents directly in your property portal. This may include photos, repair estimates, comparable home sales, or anything that supports a lower property value. Adding strong evidence helps our team build the best possible case on your behalf.
How is your fee calculated?
How is your fee calculated?
Our fee is applied to actual property tax savings in the year we appeal. For instance, if our fee is 25% and your property tax bill is reduced from $5,000 to $4,000 our fee will be applied to the $1,000 difference. In this case, the final invoice amount would be $250. You can find pricing for your region here.
How are tax exemptions taken into account?
How are tax exemptions taken into account?
Our contingency fee is applied to actual property tax savings in the year we appeal. If you have an active homestead exemption, over 65 exemption, or any other tax exemption applied to your property, we will adjust your final fee by the appropriate discounted amount. You won't be charged unless your final property tax bill is actually reduced, and we have a signed document from your taxing authority to prove it.
How are property taxes calculated?
How are property taxes calculated?
Each year, the county tax assessor generates an estimated market value and an "assessed value" for each property. These values form the base value (“basis”) upon which the property is taxed. The basis is multiplied by the tax rate for your specific tax jurisdictions to calculate the property tax bill.
Is there any risk to my property by signing up?
Is there any risk to my property by signing up?
There is no risk to signing up a property to protest or appeal in Texas, California, New York and Florida. In Washington and Georgia it is possible that a property's taxable value can increase, however we review all relevant market data before filing. If we think there is any risk then we will inform you that we are not filing. It's still important to review your property taxes each year to ensure you're only ever paying what's fair.
